NI Optical nTAP

The Three-Channel Optical nTAP includes a connection to either side of three full-duplex links under test, and three standard full-duplex analyzer connections. Optical nTAPs support gigabit single-mode, gigabit multimode, and 10 Gb single-mode and multimode traffic. LC connections are standard.

Optical nTAPs split the full-duplex signal from the network into two signals, sending one signal back to the network and the other signal to the monitoring device, which is required to be equipped with a dual-receive capture card. Signal split ratios of 50/50, 60/40, 70/30, 80/20, and 90/10 are available to support your network requirement.

• Optical nTAPs require no power to operatee
• Optical nTAPs transfer network data at line rate from full-duplex gigabit or 10 gigabit links to a monitoring or analysis device equipped with a dual receive capture card
• nTAPs can be permanently deployed without interfering with network performance or introducing a point of failure
• Because nTAPs are not addressable devices, they cannot be the target of a hack or virus attack
